Fused Glass Coasters — Silk Screening with Powdered Glass

This is really fun... and easy! I took this class at a special weekend event with a Bull’s Eye Glass representative and just fell in love with the graphics and concept. Each person will make a set of four coasters. Details to follow, so stay tuned.

Arts Alive!

October 2017

Indian Trail Junior High

Once again, I will be conducting an after school enrichment workshop, sponsored by the Addison Center for the Arts. Students in grades 6-8 will be able to create a composition by using sheet and powdered glass, applying the powdered glass using the silkscreen printing process and fusing their pieces in a kiln.

Fused glass is a technique not readily taught, and it is available to the Jr. High Art Program. It is a rewarding experience to be had through Arts Alive! Having taught at
ITJH, I know this is something very rewarding. The school has the kiln and can readily incorporate it into their art curriculum.

I taught three other workshops in fused glass in the past. The kids now know me as the “Glass Lady.”
